.when did the fairy tale fail?

It was like, Katya decided, being born of a demon father and an angel mother. Only it wasn’t some romantic fairy tale—it wasn’t even a happy fairy tale—where the two eventual parents chose to move heaven and earth just so they could be together, even for a brief time. It was more like the demon enslaved the angel and then proceeded to ravish her and beat her and make her remaining time alive a true hell simply because he thought it was funny and pleasurable.

Having an ‘angel’ proved his power, and now his angelspawn, since the mother was long since dead, was the next bit of proof of how important he was. Not that Splithorn wasn’t vicious enough to keep his own boundaries and herds well in tact. He was special compared to his fellow Poisontails, better in every way that matter. Satyr-like in shape and ghost-like in appearance, his silvery eyes rested in a powder white face. Even his cloven hooves were this colour, and a silvery-grey horn protruded from his forehead, split partially down. Small tusks curved upwards from his lower jaw and he spoke in a raspy voice that bespoke all of the authority and evil that filled him.She was born as daughter to this monster, and he abused her in every way, proving his mastery over her, over his lands. After her first escape attempt, he broke all four of her legs. She didn’t think they were ever going to heal.

Everyday was a living nightmare, and everyday she wished she would die. There were no happy endings here.
